Arts center hosts Grand Prairie Festival of the Arts Decorative Arts category and Arkansas County School Exhibit open house

A quilt titled “Soul Sister” by Lorie Bernhardt was awarded first place and Best of Show in the Decorative Arts category of the Arts Festival of the Grand Prairie. Artists were recognized during a reception on April 5 jointly recognizing the Decorative Arts category winners and students who participated in the Arts Center of the Grand Prairie’s Arkansas County School Exhibit.

On Tuesday, April 5, the Grand Prairie Arts Council and the Arts Center of the Grand Prairie hosted a reception for the Grand Prairie Festival of the Arts Decorative Arts category entrants and the Arkansas County School Exhibit.

In attendance were community members, board members, Decorative Arts category winners, and youth and their families who had worked on an exhibit from their respective school or from the after-school art classes held at the Arts Center.

In addition to Decorative Arts, the Arkansas County School Exhibit features selected works from students in kindergarten thru sixth-grade from Holy Rosary Catholic School, Stuttgart Public Schools, and the After-School Program at the Arts Center of the Grand Prairie.
