Students in the San Juan Unified School District are giving back to those in need by spending 24 hours helping a Sacramento nonprofit group.El Camino Fundamental High School radio station KYDS 91.5 FM began a live broadcast on Friday at 8 a.m. called Audiothon to raise money for the program. Matt Sumpter, the media teacher at El Camino Fundamental High School spoke to KCRA 3’s Ty Steele and Brandi Cummings about the event. KYDS has been around for 43 years and the school’s station has held its audiothon for a few decades, he said. You can stream the station’s programming here. “It’s a fundraiser typically but this spring students decided to support Girls Rock Sacramento instead of fundraising for their own program,” Sumpter said.
