California boaters rescue teen girls swept out to sea

A couple of fishers are being credited with saving two teenage girls who had been swept out to sea.According to Bill Weilbacher, he was salmon fishing in the Monterey Bay when they spotted the teens in the water.”It was dumb luck we saw them. We went by them at 28 knots and saw a head bobbing as we did,” Weilbacher said in a post on Facebook. Weilbacher said the girls had been pulled out by a riptide after swimming near Salinas Beach in Moss Landing. The video shows the two girls getting in the boat looking exhausted and thankful for the rescue. “As you can see from the video, they were in bad shape but are going to be fine,” wrote Weilbacher.
