Malikai “Machine Gun” Johnson of Elk Grove, by way of Monterey Trail High School, will put his perfect 8-0 professional boxing record on the line Friday night in Sacramento.However, he will be feeling extra pressure this time when he enters the ring at the DoubleTree Hotel without his biggest supporter. Malikai’s father, Tommy, died earlier this year from COVID-19, and this will be Malikai’s first pro-boxing match without his father by his side. So far this season, Malikai, who is also a national kickboxing champion, has knocked out five of his opponents. He aims to honor his father by someday winning a world boxing title.See more in the video above.
