Lance Franklin 1000th goal, Zach Tuohy’s incredible act towards fan amid SCG mayhem

Geelong veteran Zach Tuohy has been praised for an incredibly kind act towards a fan during the chaotic stampede that followed Lance Franklin‘s 1000th career goal.

Tuohy was stationed in Geelong’s defensive 50 when Franklin lined up for his historic moment, and attempted to walk off the ground with his teammates as thousands of fans set upon Franklin.

However, amid the mayhem, a crazed fan ran directly into Tuohy, and fell to the turf immediately following the impact.

After quickly dusting himself off, the fan continued to make a beeline towards Franklin, when Tuohy noticed that he’d dropped his wallet following the pair’s collision.

The Cats star then picked up the wallet and attempted to locate the fan he’d inadvertently knocked over in order to return the prized possession.

“They come charging on. There’s Zach Tuohy thinking, ‘I’m going to get out of here’. You’ll notice he’s left his wallet,” Melbourne great Garry Lyon said on Fox Footy’s coverage.

“Zach Tuohy bends down, picks the wallet up and says, ‘Hey! Come back here, there’s your wallet mate’, then he goes off. That’s a great moment.”

Former Brisbane Lions skipper Jonathan Brown could not resist taking a jab at the tribunal after a week filled with controversy surrounding bumps.

“How many weeks you reckon? He got the $2000 out of the bloke’s wallet to pay the fine (for the bump). Well done,” he said.
