North Queensland Cowboys vs St George Illawarra Dragons results, kick off time, updates, Round 14 news

Spectacular start for the Cowboys – Scott Drinkwater dives over after five minutes, the beneficiary of an amazing pass from Coen Hess, whose offload couldn’t have come much later than it did.

The first two passes from Reece Robson and Tom Dearden were slick as well, some excellent ball movement as we’ve seen from Todd Payten’s men all year.

“The pass from Robson, look at that – right out in front, Dearden straight at the defence. The speed of the pass is what allowed Dearden to have the advantage against the defence,” Brad Fittler said on commentary.

“The first pass was an absolute cracker.”

“That’s lovely play,” Phil Gould added.

A couple of sets later, Drinkwater turns provider – it’s a deft grubber to the right-hand side and Peta Hiku times his run perfectly to latch onto it in the in-goal!

The Cowboys have beaten the clock to 12 points, and look well on top early.
