SPS update: Award programs and semester tests

The Stuttgart School District is preparing to close the 2021-2022 school year. Director of Communications and Student Services for Stuttgart Public Schools Nikki Hawkins said Friday, May 27, is the last day for students.

“The end of the year is kind of a hectic time. It is a celebratory time, but it is hectic because you are trying to get everything in,” Hawkins said.

Programs

In order to celebrate each student, the Stuttgart School District will hold end-of-year programming. Park Avenue Elementary School held a program for Pre-K students on Wednesday, and the school will celebrate kindergarteners today.

“The schools really look forward to those times when the parents come into the buildings. It is like we are welcoming them with open arms. So please come on in, and help us celebrate these babies,” Hawkins said.

Stuttgart Junior High School will hold its award ceremony on Monday, May 23. Meekins Middle School will hold its end-of-the-year program on Tuesday, May 24.

Times for the programs will be updated on each school’s social media sites.

Testing

The district will administer semester tests next week.

“Tests for junior high and high school students will start on Tuesday and go through Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is a make-up day,” Hawkins said. “Also next week, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are early dismissal days.”
