Innovation Award for Tourism Achievement
Please join us Wednesday, May 4, at 3:30 p.m. as the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce accepts an Innovation Award from Arkansas Delta Byways for our Prairie Sunset Mural!
Arkansas Delta Byways is the official tourism promotion association for the 15 counties in Eastern Arkansas. Counties include Arkansas, Chicot, Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Cross, Desha, Drew, Greene, Lee, Mississippi, Monroe, Phillips, Poinsett and St. Francis. These past two years have been very challenging for the tourism industry, especially in our area. However true to our heritage, culture, and people, Delta perseverance prevailed! Businesses, organizations, events and individuals needed to develop “Innovative Practices” to survive. The region did not disappoint in its creativity. To recognize those who went above and beyond, Arkansas Delta Byways is presenting its first-ever, ADB Innovation Award for 2020-21. Winners will be presented their awards at a Traveling Awards ceremony during Arkansas Tourism Week, May 2-6. Weather permitting, ceremonies will be outside. The public is invited to all events.

The Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with East Arkansas Broadcasters and the Stuttgart Daily Leader to host a Candidate Forum for the upcoming election.
The Forum will be held on Wednesday, May 4, and will feature the candidates running for School Board, Arkansas County Judge, and State Representative District 61.
The Forum will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the School Board candidate forum followed by Arkansas County Judge and State Representative District 61. There will be no live audience due to space limitations.
EAB will broadcast the forum live on Country 97.3 FM and the Stuttgart Daily Leader’s Facebook page. The radio broadcast can also be heard through the Country 97.3 mobile app, which is available for free download for smartphones, or online at www.country973.com. A video replay will be available after the forum on the Stuttgart Daily Leader’s Facebook page.
Candidates will each be asked a series of general questions followed by questions submitted by the public which will be drawn by each candidate in a round-robin format.
The Candidate Forum is designed to provide citizens with a unique opportunity to learn more about candidates and their platforms for key local races. Questions are selected in advance of the event by the committee, with the goal of obtaining relevant information from the candidates in a fair manner.
Lynn Keller will serve as moderator. Candidates, the moderator, a timekeeper, and representatives from the Chamber and EAB will meet together at city hall for the candidate forum, which will begin at 5:30 p.m.
